Different web conferencing companies obviously have different pricing schemes for their service. The choice of payment plan depends on the subscribers needs and schedules.
Before you embark on your search for a web conferencing service, first determine the following:
- How often do you conduct web conferences?
- What is the average length of your sessions?
- How many participants are usually involved?
- Will you be using video or audio only conferencing?
- Are there any other specialized application, program or tool that will be needed during the presentation?
Web Conferencing with Annual Payments
If you conduct web conferences every month or even every week, there are annual or bi-annual payment methods that can save you a lot. With these kinds of plans, you will very likely get the total package in terms of applications and other perks. This kind of plan obviously will work very well for larger sized companies.
Web Conferencing on a Per-Minute Basis
If you do not conduct too many sessions in a year, then there are plans that charge you on a per-minute basis. If you conduct only two hours of web conferencing in a year, then the per-minute basis may be a cheaper route to take.
Web Conferencing on a Per-Person, Per-Minute Basis
Some providers charge you on a per-person basis on top of the per-minute charges. These obviously are not that cost-efficient because each session will have differing numbers of attendees. If you plan to conduct online meetings regularly, then you should avoid these kinds of plans. They are more suited for those who conduct one session a year.
Video or Audio Conferencing?
Web conferencing uses a lot of bandwidth, especially those that require video and applications. Audio conferences use less bandwidth so they are les expensive. Can your online meetings do with just voice? If they can, then audio conferencing is by far the one that will cost you the least.
Specialized Application Requirement
Most providers will provide you a collection of applications when you sign up for their service. However there may be some that will hold back on certail very specialized applications and when you need them, you may be charged extra. So find out if the applications that are being supplied would suffice.
License Buyout
